I’ve had Florida on my mind the last few days. I am going for a visit in two weeks and could not be more excited. It’s been awhile, to say the least. We’re also planning a few more trips down there for later this year. One city on my short list of places to visit is Palm Beach. I’ve been before, and would not at all mind going again. Specifically, I want to stay at The Colony Hotel. I’m a sucker for a pretty hotel. This one has a pink exterior and is overflowing with Palm Beach regency style.

Stunning, right? If I ever have a vacation home in Florida, it’s going to have this style decor. But, what is this style? I would consider it Palm Beach Regency. Kind of beach-y. Kind of glam. For those, who, like me, are basically drooling right now, let’s break this style down a little. I’ll also share some picks to get the look at home.
Elements of Palm Beach Regency Style
Lots of White
You want your room to feel light and bright. One way to do this is by using shades of white as your neutral colors. Look at the sitting area pictured above. It has white walls, a white coffee table, white dining chairs, white cabinets. The floor and sofa are also on the pale side.
Gold Accents
Looking at these pictures, it’s easy to see that gold is the metal of choice. It’s blingy and it’s bold. This makes it the perfect metal to add a little glam to a room.
Chinoiserie
This is their new lobby and there’s a literal pagoda in it. On a more subtle note, the green coffee tables below and the dining chairs above both have Asian design influences.

Pops of Pastels
Looking at these pictures, you’ll notice the judicious use of blush, celadon, and aqua.
Wicker and Rattan
The use of wicker and rattan helps add that vacation vibe to these rooms. I love the mix of wicker chairs with tufted velvet banquettes in this dining space.
